Honoring Widows & Widowers

Brunch & Resource Fair

Join us for a meaningful and fun gathering at our upcoming Under His Wings: Brunch and Resource Fair honoring widows and widowers. This event will not only honor the memory of our loved ones but also highlight the importance of community in the loss and healing process, which also includes laughter. You will gain valuable resources and insight, cultivate meaningful connections, and find a renewed sense of hope.

The “Under His Wings” Brunch and Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Time: 11am-2pm

Location: Mount Anna Missionary Baptist Church

This phenomenal event will include brunch, access to various vendors and resources, and heartfelt tributes for those “Under His Wings”. Join us in this supportive environment as we uplift and empower one another on the journey of healing.

…with Special Guest: Christian Comedian Akintunde

Akintunde is a Dove Award-winning comedian, actor, writer, director, producer and motivational speaker whose career spans over three decades.  With a calling to deliver clean, faith-based humor, Akintunde has earned a reputation as a leader in Christian entertainment. His work has graced the screens of BET’s *Comic View*, TBN’s *Praise The Lord*, and *Sister Circle*, among others. As a seasoned writer, Akintunde has contributed to over 350 hours of original television programming, holding development and distribution agreements with major networks such as USA Network/NBC Universal, BET Networks, E-One Entertainment, Arrow Records and most  recently, Legacy Distribution.  Akintunde has written for the NAACP Image Awards, It's  Showtime At The Apollo, and the BET Awards and served as Head  Writer and Producer for BET Networks' The Monique Show.  In 2024, Akintunde embarked on a series of projects, through WF Media Group, the production company he co-founded with his wife, Eunissa, and signed a significant agreement with Sirius XM/Pandora, covering 70% of the audio market. And in his most important role, Akintunde is a husband of 29 years to his wife Eunissa, father of five and grandfather to one.

…and with Special Guest: Dr. Felicia Speed

Dr. Felicia Speed is a native of Anderson, SC. For 25 years, she has worked in the field of nephrology social work, helping patients with kidney failure reimagine their quality of life and overcome their psychosocial barriers. She is the Vice President of Social Work Services for Fresenius Medical Care, leading social workers to make a difference in the lives of dialysis patients. To support healthcare professionals, she promotes self-care and professional advocacy. Sharing her social work and leadership expertise, Dr. Speed serves as a speaker and facilitator for professional healthcare conferences and workshops internationally. 

She is the founder and CEO of the Light of Speed, LLC. Through her personal and executive coaching, leadership training, and consultant services, she provides expertise in various topics related to health equity, mental wellness, patient-provider relationships, grief and dying, and so much more. As a certified Mental Health First Aid Trainer, Dr. Speed empowers individuals and the community with best practices to promote suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Her ultimate mission is to be a light amid the darkness, while creating a space to give others permission to shine.

It also serves as a reminder to offer support, whether through community outreach, advocacy, or personal acts of kindness. By offering support, individuals and communities can help widows navigate their journeys with greater support, dignity, and empowerment.
